At dinner this evening, a friend of mine told us about a British tourist who was killed by a scooter while crossing the street! The craziest part of the story is that the morning prior to her death, her boyfriend tweeted “Spent the rest of the day wandering through Rome. Looking at old buildings. Nearly seeing Berlusconi and not getting hit by mopeds.” If this isn’t enough confirmation of the dangers of being a pedestrian in Rome, I don’t know what is. Please be careful when walking around in Rome.
