Eating NYC: S’mac
During my ten days in NYC I tried many new restaurants and another one I fell in love with is S’mac. I am a macaroni and cheese connoisseur and as such, I am very particular about whose I eat and can quickly discern whether it is worth recommending or not.
Crystal mentioned S’mac to me and I must admit I was a bit skeptical; a restaurant solely serving customizable mac and cheese???? *side eye*. She raved about the food and I agreed to try it. So on a Friday night we headed all the way down to the village from 145th and it was worth every minute on those trains.
S’mac is GREAT! I was completely shocked by how good the mac and cheese was. I must admit that I had low expectations, but I was proved to be the fool. I opted for the Alpine (Gruyere cheese and slab bacon) in the Major Munch size. My mouth is actually watering writing this post. While the food was much to much for me, it was just as amazing warmed up the next day.
Now so that we are clear, all they serve is mac and cheese so if you think you might want anything extra, this is not the place for you. The prices are reasonable and the food is quick and cooked just for you. When you get a chance head to one of the three locations and think of me while you are there!
