A Perfect B & B in Rome
My sister and one of her closest friends came to visit me in Rome for one week, which just ended on Thursday. My current housing situation is a bit unstable so I had to book a bed and breakfast for them. I have heard great things about Air BNB so I headed straight to the website and started browsing. The site is very cool. It allows you to book rooms in people’s houses or unique spaces that people are renting. The prices vary but I find it to be quite reasonable.
When I found the “bNb house on the trees! 2” I was thrilled! It was cheap, looked very modern, in a great location (Testaccio) and had great reviews. They also have a website.
Elisa, the owner was very pleasant and easy going and super knowledgeable about Rome. And even though we were running late and kept changing the check in time, she met us at the apartment to show us the room and give us a brief history of the neighborhood. She taught me things about my neighborhood that I never knew. The only draw back was that it was on the fourth floor with no elevator, but after all of the gelato, pasta and wine, the exercise was a good thing.
They have snacks for a light breakfast. There is a stove so you can even cook if you like and make Italian style coffee. They also have an automatic coffee and tea maker. I was very impressed and I am not easily impressed.
The apartment is located just off of Via Galvani which is a street with loads of restaurants and bars and is just around the corner from one of the club districts and one of my favorite museums, MACRO Testaccio.
Finding good, modern lodging in Rome is difficult. Needless to say, this place has my stamp of approval!!
They have rooms for two or three people and all have private bathrooms!
Everything looked brand new and was super clean
Fresh fruits, yogurt and juice for breakfast.
