Pardon My Absence (A 7am Post)

Wow. This is only the second post that I have written this month. Going back to my Goals for 2012 post I see that I am failing miserably.

1. Visit 5 new countries: Sadly, I have not been very motivated to travel in these first five months of 2012. (Can we take a moment to drop our jaws at the fact that it is June in two days!!!) Since 2012, I have been, technically, in Detroit, NYC, Italy, Miami (best weekend ever!), and London. Hopefully I will still accomplish this goal, but it will take some serious concentration during my summer holidays.

2. Secure a two year contract: Definitely know that this will not happen. What can I say, things change. My path seems to change every other day. I’m getting motion sickness from all of the swerving.

3. Stop cursing: To be honest, I forgot about this one. 🙂

4. Blog 3 times per week: I am such a slacker! I hope to blog more from now on. I will put an alarm in my calendar. But on another random note, I am now blogging for my department’s intranet site at work!

5. Get my photos into a gallery: I have started selecting some photos, but if I can be shamefully honest, I am scared that my pictures aren’t good enough. *sigh* I am going to share the pictures I put together with people I know in the industry and go from there. I think the biggest fear of any artist is having your work judged. Maybe it is just me.

6. Read 10 books: I have completed one, Toni Morrison’s Love, but I am still on number two. To be fair, it is over 500 pages. This summer should be much more relaxed. I will not be working for nearly six weeks. I plan to read read read.

Looking at this list, I guess I should write another blog post, take my book on the Metro, choose three more photos for my portfolio, plan a trip to a new country and pop a bar of soap in my mouth. In the meantime, here is a picture of me on my 28th birthday, two weeks ago today.
