Book Review: Little Bee
A year and a half ago ago, a friend imparted a gift to me, “You must read Little Bee.” No she did not give me the book she simply gave the command. Chris Cleve’s Little Bee is a story that leaves many questions unanswered from the start, whose details put you in the unlikely position of a refugee. The beauty lies in the mystery that is uncovered page by page. It lies within the awe of sacrifice, selflessness, love, and the unlikely dependence that we sometimes find in a stranger. You see, all that can be shared about the book is that it is about a British couple and a Nigerian refugee. To tell you more specific details would be to steal the gift from you. So pick up the book, read it, then pass it on to someone else.
