france

I have been to France a number of times, mostly Paris. The iconic European city should be on everyone’s must visit list. Be sure to take in the major sites such of the Eiffel Tower and Notre Dame, but spend time getting lost on small streets. My favorite neighborhoods are Montmartre and Le Marais. Because of the huge number of immigrants in France you have the option of cuisine from all over the world, so when you get tired of duck and baguettes try a chicken shawarma or a falafel. The South of France is sublime. My suggestion is that you rent a car from the Nice airport and plan a five to seven day road trip that should include Provence, Èze, Nice, Grasse, Cannes, and Saint-Tropez. Take the train to Monaco from Nice rather than driving. Thank me later! All in all France is part of the quintessential Euro trip. #catchmeinfrance

Where to stay

chateau

Hotel Chateau de la Tour in Cannes

Super cute, quaint and quiet. Set in an upscale residential neighborhood just minutes from the beach and train station.

An “economical” option in Saint Tropez. Great staff, typical french breakfast, great pool and grounds, good food.

ibis

Ibis Nice Californie Lenzal
in Nice

Budget option. Great views, super cheap, one block from the Promenade, close to the airport

Best meal I have ever had in France. You must order the moules (mussels) and the huîtres chaudes (hot oysters).

Le Dindon en Laisse

Just really good food, the duck is always a good option. However, you can't go wrong here!

  1. Hi! I admire you for all of your trips, but so sad that you havn’t been elsewhere in France in 6 times! There are so many more beautiful places than the bling-bling east coast of St Tropez…

    1. Hi Eli,

Thanks for the comment. I am sorry you are disappointed by my travels. France is not one of my countries, not even close, so I spend time visiting other countries that I have more interest in. I’ve been to four French cities in three regions and simply haven’t fallen in love with the country, but love the pastries and the fashion!!

      Jessica
