Cultural Differences: Random Musings with Strangers
Traveling and living in so many places, I often notice little things that are different from the United States. One thing that I get a lot of at home is random interactions with strangers, be they short fun conversations in line at Starbucks or sharing mutual frustration with someone
at the airport.
Americans are a very warm and open people and I believe many of my European friends would confirm this. Always open to share their opinions and some times maybe talk too much, I love this quality about Americans. I find that Japanese people are often too demure to share opinions, though their tireless hospitality and humility are great replacements. The Brits are quite cold, it must be all the grey skies. And the Italians, well, the Romani are not the friendliest people that I’ve ever met. Being in the US for nearly six weeks was very pleasant and full of fun and interesting interactions with strangers!
