Luxor Egypt: Where Magic Lives

I went to Luxor, Egypt in December 2009. We spent a few days in Cairo then took an overnight train to Luxor. The train was uncomfortable and dirty, but once we arrived in Luxor the exhaustion and aggravation we felt melted right away. The first glimpse of the Nile in its infinite beauty made me know that someone knew exactly what they were doing when they created this planet. The ruins of Karnak Temple and their amazement cannot be explained in mere words. I hope my pictures do the talking, but you must add Luxor to your bucket list. Valley of the Kings, though out shined by its feminine counterpart, Valley of the Queens left me in awe, realizing how small I am and how extensive time is.

Enjoy.

  1. Hi!

What an amazing journey you’ve been on. I am travelling to Cairo (and probably Luxor and Alexandria) in a few weeks. I was just wondering if you had any tips or a list of not-so-typical things to do, or anything of that nature. Glad I stumbled upon your blog!

    Thanks,
    Brea

    1. Hi Brea,

Thanks for reading! I’ve only been to Cairo once and it was amazing. Depending on the amount of time that you have I would surely stick to the main attractions, e.g. Giza, the Egyptian museum, etc. I did spend a bit of time in Coptic Cairo and of course you MUST go to the markets.

I recommend in Luxor that you get a tour guide and also take a ride on the Nile. Enjoy your trip!
