Bartering in Obama Japan
Right before the best co-teacher of all time, Colin Chu left Japan, at the end of his contract, we traveled to the beaches in Obama Japan – yes, that is the real name of the city. The town of Obama is very excited to share a name with the world’s most famous politician of our generation and were producing Obama related items, which I fully intended on buying once we arrived in the city. Sadly, we visited the city on a Sunday and the stores were not open.
When I thought all hope was lost, I saw a young man playing his guitar and wearing an Obama shirt. So my usual cheeky self walked right over to him and asked him I could have his shirt, offering my white tank top in exchange. Surprisingly he agreed!
