A loosely planned road trip
So this little (big) road trip came about through casual conversation and since I have been so busy with all my other trips I didn’t plan any bit of this trip and in all fairness that was my responsibility. While I slacked on the specifics I came well equipped with three different maps and a bunch of tour books courtesy of AAA. I didn’t so much as open the books or look at the maps prior to meeting up with Matyi, but thank goodness I picked them up. When we left Vegas we knew that we wanted to see the Hoover Dam and Grand Canyon, but we didn’t know much more beyond that. We had no idea where we were going to stop or what distance was between where we were and any of the places we were going. All we knew is that we had sixteen days to get back to Vegas in time for our respective flights out of there. Once we reached the Grand Canyon we took time out to look at the maps and my handy dandy “1,000 Places To See Before You Die” book, to decide where we wanted to go. After a few calculations we realized that my guess was true, we would be driving for over 100 hours and well over 3,000 miles!
😀 Good times.
