Paradise is that you?
Sunday morning, after very little sleep, I headed to the airport to catch a flight to Nadi, Fiji. The flight was three hours and 20 minutes and as we descended into Nadi International Airport, I was pretty sure that I was landing in paradise. The country is full of lush green hills, more green than I think I may have ever seen in my life. The sky is gorgeously blue with the perfect amount of clouds to accent it. When we walked off of the plane I was met with temperatures in the 80s which I thought was a bit hot to be so late in the day, but I will not complain. After changing my traveler’s cheques into Fijian dollars and collecting all of my luggage, I was finally cleared to meet Keondra, my best friend, who is currently living in Fiji doing Peace Corps. What a great reunion.
We headed to a hotel for the evening, as she lives on the other side of the island and the last bus had already departed. We stayed in a two star hotel, with a beautiful bar, lobby, and pool, but the two stars revealed themselves when we got to the room. I will spare you the details, just know that Keondra barely slept because of the bed bugs.
