saint vincent and the grenadines

I spent four days in Saint Vincent and the Grenadines, two on Saint Vincent and two on the private island of Mustique. While my time on Saint Vincent was fairly uneventful, largely due to travel fatigue, I did enjoy the views of the sea from my Airbnb and also had a great host. I did a half day tour of the southern part of the island and was able to experience some of its splendor. If you don’t rent a car, hire a driver! They know where to take you and can explain a lot about the island. (Try Kezal at +17844556602. Tell him I sent you!) If visiting Saint Vincent, I highly recommend a visit to Mustique. Mustique is the type of place that you will visit time and time again. #catchmeinsaintvincent

Where to stay

The Cotton House

An absolutely phenomenal boutique hideaway, with only 17 rooms, it is easy for the staff to give personalized service. This is a place where everyone knows your name, your favorite drink and what you want for breakfast. With beautiful spaces scattered about the property it will be hard to choose exactly where to curl up with your book.

Waves Villa

An airbnb that I found when looking for a location close to the airport. I was looking for something basic but got so much more than I imagined. Gwen was a great host and truly went above & beyond. The best part was being able to look out at the sea every morning, just a few steps from my room. If you need a place for an overnight on the island, this is it!

4 Shells

Great local food not too far from town and not to far from the airport. There's outdoor and indoor seating plus a full bar.

Lisa's

On Mustique you may want to venture away from your villa to taste some local food and Lisa’s does not disappoint. Be careful with the pepper sauce!

Chill Spot

With a daily menu on the chalkboard it's clear the food is FRESH! For less than $10 USD you get a meat, two sides AND dessert.

what to do

Visit Indian Bay

and other nearby beaches to experience the great sand and beautiful water that the locals enjoy every day.

Relax

Mustique is all about relaxation. The tiny private island is safe and small and everyone is friendly. Take a stroll, lay on the beach, go snorkeling or read a book.

Morning run on Mustique

Mustique is quite a small island, so why not run or walk up to the lookout and watch the sunrise and get a workout in.
